In the US. In flyover country. I... I have so many questions! Like... why? And also how?
Not the actual car (it was dark out)
I actually didn’t know it was an Alfa at first! I just saw tail light I didn’t recognize, which is unusual, and then looked at the badges.
According to Wikipedia they were made available from 1998 to 2003 (this looked to be a pre-facelift model) and never sold in the US.
How did it get here? And why? (It isn’t exactly... pretty) Does the owner have any idea?
We have an Alfa club meeting this weekend. I am going to ask...

As I vehemently argued here , I think these are absolutely hideous.
What country?

Does the owner have any idea?
This question I can answer with an emphatic “Yes”. There’s literally no way the could not know.

Did it have Canadian or Mexican plates? It’s old enough to be legally imported to Canada...

And yes. Not my favorite. The back in particular was pretty Playschool. That said, it is cool by virtue of being so unusual.

Hmm didn’t notice. Seems unlikely but you never know. Getting it registered in OK wouldn’t have been a problem. They’ll register anything...

It’s hard for me to agree on it being ugly, but I will say it’s one of the lesser attractive Alfas out there (which in turn makes it still ten times more beautiful than most other cars).
The facelifted 166 was a definite improvement.

These things are rare even in Europe. I wouldn’t be surprised if there would be only a single one in whole the US.
My former coworker had one with the 2.0 V6 turbo engine. Some jealous person vandalized (with dents and scratches) it on our company parking lot. No other car did received similar treatment in the whole time that I have been here.

Googling it, there appears to be two or three that have popped up on BaT over the years, all from the same dealer in the US. But yeah, I want to know this things story.
And boo someone vandalizing any car, let alone an Alfa. People are weird.
